| ...Meet Sigurd Hepler
Guitarist Sigurd Hepler plays
in a wide variety of styles. Specializing in classical and finger-style acoustic,
he has performed in a variety of settings from weddings and receptions to musicals
and revues.
Equally at ease with electric or acoustic guitars, he has
performed with the jazz big bands IUSB Jazz Ensemble and ITT Conglomernotes as
well as a
variety groups. He has backed up various performers including Contemporary Christian
artist Melissa Montana and opened for Jars of Clay. He has played in numerous
musicals including West Side Story, Evita, Big River, Godspell, The Wiz, Will
Rogers Follies and Assassins. He has played guitar at Cedar Point in Sandusky
Ohio and regional theatres including Meadowbrook Theatre (Rochester Hills, Michigan),
Amish Acres (Nappanee, Indiana), and the Wagon Wheel Theatre (Warsaw, Indiana).
In the past he served as an adjunct guitar instructor and lecturer at Taylor University
in Upland, Indiana and currently teaches guitar at the Clarkston Conservatory
of Music in Clarkston, Michigan.
In addition to guitar he also plays banjo
and bass guitar.
He holds a Bachelor of Music, Guitar Performance and
an Associate in Jazz & Commercial Music from Indiana University, South Bend
as well as Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.
He resides
in Michigan with his wife Victoria and 3 children.
